Based in CAPE TOWN, and offering a salary of R650K – R700K/annum, this BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ANALYST (QUANTITATIVE DATA ANALYST) role is with a leading ONLINE RETAILER growing fast!
As a highly respected brand name in the ecommerce arena, this ONLINE RETAILER has grown faster and acquired more consumers in the last few years than any other online/ecommerce business. They are now preparing for the next level of growth both nationally and internationally – as part of this ambition their Business Development Team are supported by Analytics to inform decisions and maximise the growth.
As an Online Retailer growth could mean for example, looking into new retail categories, additions of new consumer products, understanding the effect of retail promotions, looking into new strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and more.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will provide the research and analysis required to develop robust business cases for new opportunities to grow the business. This involves analysing data to determine the size of the market for new concepts, researching how solutions are being implemented locally and internationally, using online tools and resources as well as identifying and engaging other information sources.
You will use your Advanced Excel skills to build models to quantify the size of opportunities and apply creative problem solving to develop solutions.
The role is both Analytical and Client-facing as you’ll need to develop the high-level functional requirements that the business would need to implement the opportunity you’re proposing. You will need to work with specialists across the business to understand what is needed to practically implement ideas
Strong analytical and critical thinking, using data to inform decisions.
Ability to disaggregate and structure solutions to ambiguous problems.
Solid quantitative skills.
Capability to present ideas succinctly, in writing and verbally.
Bachelor’s degree required, with a major in a quantitative subject.
Experience in an analytical role (e.g. in e-commerce, consulting, engineering)
