Based in CAPE TOWN this RETAIL DATA ANALYST role offers a salary of R400K – R450K/annum.

Their loyal customer base is growing exponentially with the resultant massive growth in Data – you will therefore be working in a Big Data environment, learn to utilise the most advanced data analysis / predictive analytics techniques and also gain exposure to Data Science initiatives.
Reporting to the Retail Analytics Manager, you will join a team of Analysts, BI and Data Science specialists.
Your role will be to perform data analysis to support root cause analysis and decision making in Retail. This will include descriptive, diagnostic and prescriptive analytics. The role includes performing process analysis and to design changes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency across all areas of Retail.
Technically you will develop spreadsheet-based prototypes or proof-of-concept tools to rapidly improve processes; Support the planning & budgeting of all Retail metrics: Build and maintain Excel and Google Sheets based tools; Coordinate planning activities according to timelines between various internal and external stakeholders.
Strong commercial acumen and keen to work in Online Retail.
Creative and practical problem-solving skills with a Solutions-oriented approach.
Capable of working with large and complex data sets.
SQL / MySQL, Excel, Google Sheets and Qlikview are examples of the tools the team uses.
If you’ve used either BigQuery or KNIME, that would be great but not essential.
Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
Bachelor’s Degree in an Analytical, Commercial or Numerical discipline.
At least 3 years’ experience in Data Analysis / Analytics.
Experience in the retail industry would be beneficial but not essential.
