Based in CAPE TOWN this LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR position offers a salary of R420K – R540K/annum.
This is an established Analytics and Software Consultancy operating in a Linux and Open Source environment. They are a leading BIG DATA Analytics, INSIGHT & OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING businesses, utilising advanced technology systems with very large volumes of data to provide Data & Software Solutions.
To be considered for this role you must have experience with Linux Systems, Ansible (Alternatives: Puppet, Chef) or Docker (LXC, Vagrant, Kubernetes, rkt) as their environments are reliant on these technologies.
As DevOps LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR you will contribute to a cross-functional Linux Systems Administration team that works together as a high-performing business unit responsible for delivering technology & infrastructure solutions.
You will develop and maintain solutions that monitor and manage infrastructure (virtual or otherwise) used by their core and supplementary services.
This includes the Provision, Maintenance and Management of new server environments; develop, maintain and monitor internal applications, setup, schedule and maintain backups to provide data redundancy and ability to recover; maintaining users, user access, and permissions, and mentor junior team members.
Strong experience working with Linux.
Demonstrated experience as a System Administrator.
Ansible (Alternatives: Puppet, Chef) or Docker (LXC, Vagrant, Kubernetes, rkt).
A keen interest in emerging technologies.
Linux shell scripting.
FTP, ZFS, and Samba.
VirtualBox CLI (no-gui).
Apache and Nginx.
Experience with monitoring, graphing and logging tools such as Prometheus, Zabbix, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
Familiarity with repository systems such as Git.
Working knowledge of SQL environments (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL or similar).
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DHCP and DNS.
