Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a SENIOR / LEAD FRONT-END DEVELOPER to grow the in-house team that is developing mobile and web app front-ends for a successful FINTECH start-up.

This LEAD FRONT-END DEVELOPER role is based in CAPE TOWN (not CBD) and is paying circa R720K per annum.

An ethical FINTECH start-up focused on reducing money transfer costs for African migrants who are sending money home. In addition to having all the bells and whistles of your average fintech start-up (great offices, free lunch daily, flexible working hours…), what underpins this company is its primary objective to use technology to make the world a better place and the desire to work with likeminded people to achieve this.

As the LEAD FRONT-END DEVELOPER, you will be the founding member of the internal team, leading all FRONT-END development across web and mobile. Development work is currently outsourced and you will work closely with the outsourced partner to transition the FRONT-END development and ultimately insource it; collaborate with designers and backend developers to improve app usability; review code, layout and design projects, while assessing user data to make recommendations on product designs.

Relevant qualification and substantial front-end web and mobile app development experience
Experience with modern web and mobile frameworks
Technical skills: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, JSON, XML
Familiar with browser / app testing and debugging
Knowledge of SEO principles
