This is an excellent opportunity for an ANALYTICS MANAGER to lead the Analytics Team and build the ANALYTICS influence, Data Strategy & growth of data insight tools within the most exciting and fastest-growing ONLINE RETAILER (e-commerce business).

Based in CAPE TOWN this ANALYTICS MANAGER role offers a salary of R900K – R950K/annum.

As a leading ONLINE RETAILER this business is a recognised brand – and what’s needed now is an ANALYTICS MANAGER to drive data innovation and consumer insight strategies to advantage their success.

As ANALYTICS MANAGER you will manage a team three people, (2 Senior Data Analysts and 1 Data Scientist), and Lead the Analytics, Planning, Data Science and Development functions to achieve its key sales, profitability and stock targets. 
You will Perform data and process analysis to identify opportunities, diagnose problems and recommend improvements. This will be a proactive approach. 
Together with the Data Scientist you will Deliver tools using data science methods to support the areas of retail forecasting, promotions planning, scenario modeling, pricing, stock replenishment and assortment planning.
You will also Develop tools to support the business processes and decision making, mainly using ETL and spreadsheet based building blocks.
What’s essential is that you drive a vision, strategy and identity for the Retail Analytics team and each of its main functions; Set the team’s objectives to support Retail’s objectives. Manage and mentor team members to achieve these objectives.
Ultimately you will be measured by your ability to use Analytics to drive sales, improve margin, deliver efficiency, and increase the teams influence across the entire Retailer.

Strong commercial acumen, with experience in both BI and Analytics.
A keen interest in Data Science and it’s potential within an Online Retail environment.
A Systems thinker with the ability to understand and break down complex problems.
Creative and practical problem solving skills. Solution-oriented. 
Highly capable in working with large and complex data sets using appropriate tools. MySQL or Alteryx; Bigquery, Knime, or similar tools; Excel, Google Sheets or Qlikview. 
Good communications skills with the ability to present complex analytical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Maths, Stats, Commerce, or similar.
8+ years experience in analytics, business consulting or planning roles.
At least 2 years experience managing a team
Experience in the Retail industry is beneficial.
