Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a TECHNICAL MARKETING ANALYST to design Short-Term Insurance Product Strategy, and to deliver ANALYTICS MODELING & PRESENT INSIGHTS to drive Product Strategies and Innovation.

Ideally you will be a qualified ACTUARY (Actuarial Analyst) but if not, if you have a strong Numeric Qualification that will be just as good.

Based in SANDTON (JOHANNESBURG) this SENIOR MARKETING ANALYST role offers a salary of around R1M/annum (negotiable).

THE COMPANY:
This is a leading insurance business providing innovative and unique financial services and assurance products – they have an immense presence in South Africa and a rapidly expanding international footprint.

THE TEAM: You will join a team of 8 highly skilled TECHNICAL DATA ANALYSTS AND ACTUARIES. This role is at Managerial Level, where you will be hands-on in the analytical modeling, strategy development and delivery of insight; along with this you will mentor and train a junior Data Analyst.

THE ROLE:
Requires strong analytical and communication skills (i.e. you’ll enjoys using your analytical skills for real-world problem-solving and able to effectively communicate technical concepts to a wide-range of stakeholders). 
You will join a Research & Development Team growing Technical Marketing capability - responsible for analytical and research projects that support Insurance Product development, sales and distribution strategies, and strategic initiatives throughout the business. The role will be responsible for the development of compelling product positioning and tools across distribution channels. 
Essentially you will act as a bridge between R&D and the sales force - feeding competitive intelligence both ways.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ideally qualified ACTUARY, however will consider nearly qualified actuaries (with only Fellowship left), or Consulting experience with top tier consulting firm such as McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or Strong analytical backgrounds (e.g. post-graduate degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics or Engineering). 4-8 years’ work experience in Analytics and Modelling. 
Strong Statistical Analytical Skills.
Highly advanced Excel. (SQL will be a plus).
Actuarial Science experience within Insurance will be an advantage, but not essential.
Advanced Data Analysis and Strategic Consulting abilities.
Financial Modeling and Competitor Analysis experience.
Analytics and Marketing Strategy.
