This is a very good opportunity for a TECHNICAL MANAGER / TECHNICAL LEAD to manage a team & technical direction for a fast-growing DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS business.

This role provides a career path for you to become their CTO in time.

Based in CAPE TOWN this role offers a salary of R900K – R1M/annum.

This is a DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS & Marketing Tech business which has been operating for 5 years. They specialise in building contact communication strategies for businesses, ranging from customer engagement to full scale digital contact strategies, using automated lead generation, data management as well as AVM, SMS and Cloud PBX platforms to create communication strategies for leading businesses. Core specialisation is in automated communications, automated voice messages, lead generation for call centres and debt collection.

As the Technical Manager you will steer the company’s technology direction, technical staff and outsourced partners.
The position will offer you the chance to escalate into a CTO role in very quick time, where you’ll then also look at long-term technology requirements, roadmaps, innovations in the tech stack and the relevant recruitment of technical staff. The development functions are currently outsourced, and the plan medium term is to bring those skills inhouse.

Current Team:
The business currently employs 12 people comprised of operational and commercial people. Development is currently outsourced, and the plan is to bring some of those functions back internally. As part of the role you will manage the outsourced relationships and ultimately bring those expertise inhouse.
A background in Development (ideally Java, but that’s not essential) will be a strong advantage.
A keen desire to change function from a Tech Manager into a CTO role.
Strong Systems Integration experience.
Ability to establish IT services frameworks and IT security policies.
Strong Project Management skills.
Ability to lead, manage and recruit.
